About the position

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) at Lifepoint Rehabilitation will work in an outpatient setting, providing quality, compassionate care to patients recovering from injuries or illnesses. This role involves implementing rehabilitation care plans under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, documenting patient progress, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment. The PTA will play a crucial role in helping patients regain independence and improve their quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality, compassionate care in a secure setting.
• Implement the patient's Care Plan for rehabilitation under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
• Assist mentally and/or physically impaired patients in participating in tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance their performance.
• Communicate patient progress or problems to supervisor and other team members.
• Assist with patient scheduling and post charges daily to patient records.
• Document patient care in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer and accrediting requirements.
• Instruct patient's family or nursing staff in follow-through programs.
• Maintain equipment and work area in a safe and clean condition.
• Handle job responsibilities in accordance with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and applicable laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant / PTA program culminating in an Associate Degree.
• Current state licensure as Physical Therapist Assistant / PTA or equivalent in the states where services are rendered.
• CPR certification (when required).
