About the position

The Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant position at the Naval Health Clinic New England involves providing physical therapy services to patients under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. The role includes instructing family members in home care interventions, maintaining health records, and performing various therapeutic treatments. This position is part of an open continuous announcement, allowing for multiple vacancies to be filled as they arise.

Responsibilities

• Instruct family members/caregivers in appropriate interventions for home program.
• Maintain health records.
• Provide feedback to patients to correct form with exercises.
• Maintain clean and safe work environment.
• Assess and report on patients.
• Perform a variety of treatments such as Electrical stimulation, ultrasound, phonophoresis, iontophoresis, hot packs, cold packs, cervical and lumbar mechanical traction.

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience implementing physical therapy treatment plans and providing patient status reports.
• Maintain electronic health records in accordance with regulations and guidelines.
• A half year (9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field related to Physical Therapy, Kinesiotherapy, Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, or Exercise Science.
• A current, active, valid and unrestricted license or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant from a state, the District of Columbia, or a territory of the United States.
