About the position
The Physical Therapy Assistant will collaborate with licensed physical therapists to deliver rehabilitation services to patients recovering from injuries, illnesses, or disabilities. The role focuses on assisting in the implementation of treatment plans and exercises aimed at helping patients regain physical functionality and enhance their quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists in evaluating patient needs and developing individualized treatment plans
- Demonstrate and instruct patients on proper exercises and techniques
- Monitor patient progress and report back to the physical therapist
- Provide hands-on therapy, such as massage or stretching, under the supervision of a licensed therapist
- Help patients with mobility aids and other assistive devices
- Maintain patient records and documentation accurately
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) from an accredited program
- State licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Knowledge of therapeutic techniques and exercise programs
- Physical stamina and strength to assist patients with mobility and exercises
Benefits
