About the position

The Physical Therapy Assistant at Mercy works under the supervision of the Manager of Therapy Services, assisting Physical Therapists in rehabilitative activities aimed at reducing pain and improving patient mobility. This role involves exercise instruction, patient evaluation, and testing, contributing to the overall mission of providing compassionate care and exceptional service.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist with rehabilitative activities.
• Provide exercise instruction and demonstration to patients.
• Conduct patient evaluations and testing under supervision.
• Maintain a safe and alert working environment.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program with an Associate's degree.
• PTA license in the state of practice.
• Less than one year of experience in a related field.
• LPTA Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant certification.
• BLS Basic Life Support certification within 3 months of hire.
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of office equipment including computers, telephones, fax machines, printers, and copiers.

Nice-to-haves

• One to two years of previous experience in Physical Therapy delivery.
