About the position

The Physician Advisor role offers an exciting opportunity to join a national healthcare system, providing leadership to the Utilization Management Committee, Case Management, and Health Information Management/Clinical Documentation Improvement Departments. This position focuses on ensuring patients receive necessary and high-quality care while managing financial risks associated with denials and extended hospital stays. The role requires an experienced, board-certified physician who is committed to excellence in patient care and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead and promote processes for patients to receive medically necessary and high-quality care throughout the continuum of care.
• Stay abreast of professional best practices and community standards of care.
• Assist administration in limiting financial risks associated with denials and extended lengths of stay.
• Provide leadership to the Utilization Management Committee, Case Management, and Health Information Management/Clinical Documentation Improvement Departments.
• Oversee operations for two acute care hospitals in Alabama.

Requirements

• Board-certified physician with experience in a similar role.
• Demonstrated history of success in healthcare administration and patient care management.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
