About the position

Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to join the Interventional Radiology team. This role involves assisting with routine radiology procedures and supporting the Interventional Radiologist during more complex procedures. The position offers a structured work schedule with no weekends or holidays, focusing on providing specialized care to patients in the community.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with routine radiology procedures such as barium swallows, upper GI exams, barium enemas, and small bowel follow-throughs.
  • Perform fluoroscopically guided lumbar punctures, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and ultrasound-guided biopsies.
  • Work with and schedule patients through the Cerner EMR system.
  • Serve as the main contact point in the hospital for Interventional Radiology-related questions.
  • Assist the Interventional Radiologist with more complex procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant Program or a baccalaureate or higher degree program that meets licensure requirements in the State of employment.
  • National Certification in State of employment or in another State with reciprocity and licensure to practice in the State of employment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
