About the position

Pinehurst Medical Clinic is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Primary Care team. This role is essential in providing patient care independently in a medical office setting while collaborating with a supervising physician. The focus is on patient care, managing stable acute illnesses, promoting health, and preventing illness and injury.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient health status including state of wellness and compliance with care plan.
• Determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Provide acute and chronic patient care including taking histories and monitoring therapies.
• Administer injections and medications.
• Triage patient calls and evaluate patient problems.
• Make responsible decisions within the scope of a dependent medical practitioner.
• Respond to emergencies including the use of CPR.
• Document patient information and care provided in patient records and maintain department statistics.
• Use computer to access/enter needed data.
• Develop health education programs and materials as needed.
• Work collaboratively with all members of the health care team.
• Educate patients and families as appropriate.
• Provide continuity of care.
• Consult with other staff as necessary.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Active license to practice nursing in North Carolina as a Registered Nurse.
• Written approval by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and the North Carolina Medical Board to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or current North Carolina PA license certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
• BLS/CPR Certification required.
• Prior experience in a NP or PA in a primary care setting preferred.
