About the position

The Advanced Practitioner (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) at St. Luke's is responsible for providing comprehensive healthcare services to patients in collaboration with attending physicians. This role involves medical evaluations, treatment, counseling, and referrals, with a focus on patient advocacy and quality improvement initiatives. The position is primarily based in the cardiology cath lab, assisting with various procedures and patient management tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Provide healthcare services to patients under supervision or in collaboration with attending physicians.
  • Conduct medical evaluations, treatment, counseling, and referrals.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations and therapeutic procedures as appropriate.
  • Assist in managing post-procedure site complications and structural heart/valve clinic patients.
  • Participate in patient satisfaction, quality, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate and communicate patient care effectively with other healthcare professionals.
  • Conduct virtual care services for clinical assessments and treatment.
  • Maintain professional knowledge through educational workshops and professional societies.
  • Participate in the teaching of multidisciplinary students and physician residents.
  • Demonstrate performance improvement in clinical care and operational processes.
  • Utilize electronic medical records for documentation and billing purposes.
  • Provide occupational health services in the urgent care setting.

Requirements

  • Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner or Medical Physician Assistant with a current license to practice in Pennsylvania or New Jersey.
  • Current certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) for Physician Assistants.
  • Competency in assessing, treating, counseling, and educating patients and their families.
  • Ability to perform physical examinations and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Experience in developing and implementing patient management and treatment plans.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in cardiology or cath lab settings.
  • Familiarity with virtual care platforms.
  • Previous teaching or preceptorship experience.
