About the position
The Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) at Oklahoma Arthritis Center is responsible for providing comprehensive care to rheumatology patients, starting from initial consultations to ongoing assessments. This role involves performing physical examinations, ordering diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and developing patient management plans, all while ensuring compliance with legal and professional standards.
Responsibilities
- Order and interpret tests for rheumatology patients.
- Counsel patients on preventive care and therapeutic regimens.
- Conduct physical examinations and document patient care services.
- Administer joint injections or aspirations as therapeutic procedures.
- Assess patient health by interviewing and studying medical histories.
- Determine abnormal conditions through diagnostic tests and interpret results.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to infection-control policies.
- Comply with legal and professional requirements and advise management on necessary actions.
- Contribute to practice effectiveness by identifying patient care issues and recommending solutions.
- Maintain professional knowledge by attending workshops and participating in professional societies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in biology or a related medical field.
- Professional licensing in good standing with applicable licensing bodies.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in clinical assessment, preferably in rheumatology.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and applicable federal and state laws regarding scope of practice.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
