The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Urgent Care/Emergency Medicine plays a vital role in providing medical and educational services to patients under the supervision of a licensed physician. This position is integral to the healthcare team, focusing on delivering compassionate and accessible care to meet the needs of patients in urgent and emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical and educational services to patients under physician supervision.
• Conduct patient assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Administer medications and perform procedures as necessary.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Educate patients and their families on health management and preventive care.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Nurse Compact License.
• Nurse Practitioner Certification from a national certifying body.
• Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber Certification from the State of Wisconsin.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within three months of employment.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification from the American Heart Association.

Nice-to-haves

• Two years of nursing experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at the time of hire preferred.
