About the position

UPMC Community Medicine Incorporated is hiring a Full-Time Physician Assistant to help support the Orthopaedic Specialists. This role will specialize in upper extremity shoulder and elbow, with a combination of OR and clinic days between Passavant and Bethel Park. The position is located at UPMC Passavant and Bethel Park Office, with hours from Monday to Friday during daylight. UPMC Orthopaedic Specialists was founded in 2013, and the team is highly skilled in advanced techniques and procedures. Responsibilities

  • Applies basic professional practice knowledge and skills appropriate for practice setting.
  • Communicates effectively, both verbally and in documentation.

  • Learns to incorporate acceptable standards of professional practice to improve patient safety, quality, and satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and interact appropriately with patients.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
  • Possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status.
  • Provide care needs as described in the department policy and procedures.
  • A graduate of a physician assistant program accredited by the ARC-PA.
  • Current state PA license certified by the NCCPA.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Act 33, Act 73, and Act 34 Clearances.

Nice-to-haves

  • BS or MS candidate preferred.
  • Experience as a physician assistant and/or in a clinical setting preferred.
