About the position

This position is designed for a Physician Assistant (PA) at Kaiser Permanente, specifically within the Sacramento Fair Oaks Medical Offices. The PA will work under the supervision of a physician to provide high-quality, efficient, and patient-focused care across various settings, including the office, hospital, emergency department, and perioperative environments. The role is integral to the healthcare team, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive care tailored to their needs. The PA will be responsible for examining patients, performing physical assessments, and compiling medical data, including health histories and results from diagnostic tests. They will also administer or order diagnostic tests, interpret results, and perform therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, and wound care. In addition to these core responsibilities, the PA will develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, and provide continuity of care. They will instruct and counsel patients on compliance with therapeutic regimens, health maintenance, and other relevant education. Depending on the specialty, the PA may also facilitate admissions, transfers, and discharges, assist in surgeries, and perform other department-specific procedures. The role may require evening or weekend hours, and the PA will be expected to collaborate with the supervising physician and other team members on performance improvement activities. The Senior Physician Assistant may also take on additional responsibilities, including mentoring less experienced PAs and facilitating on-call duties for their supervising physician.
