About the position
The Cardiothoracic surgery team at Carilion Clinic is seeking a skilled Physician Assistant with expertise in endoscopic vein harvesting and first assisting. This role is crucial in providing high-quality cardiovascular care, including hybrid, minimally invasive, and robotic procedures. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dedicated team of healthcare professionals in a growing environment, particularly with the upcoming completion of a new 12-story Cardiovascular Institute tower.
Responsibilities
- Assist in endoscopic vein harvesting procedures.
- Provide first assistance during cardiothoracic surgeries.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers to ensure excellent patient care.
- Maintain open communication with department members, patients, and their families.
- Commit to continued professional development and meet credentialing requirements.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required.
- Current Physician Assistants license (PA) required.
- DEA licensure required.
- AHA BLS-HCP certification required.
- Advanced life support certification preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Clinical experience appropriate to specific practice/department preferred.
