About the position

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is seeking a Board Eligible Physician to provide comprehensive medical services at Georgia Regional Hospital in Atlanta. This role involves examining patients, diagnosing conditions, and providing treatments while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Examine patients and take their medical histories.
  • Diagnose conditions and provide appropriate treatments.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of nurses, aides, and other medical staff.
  • Refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary.
  • Advise patients on health care, including health promotion and disease prevention.
  • Order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures.
  • Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, and vaccinations.
  • Provide emergency medical care.

Requirements

  • Medical degree recognized by the Georgia Composite Medical Board (GCMB).
  • Licensure or license-eligible to practice medicine in the state of Georgia.
  • Board Eligible status.
