About the position

The Primary Care Deputy Associate Chief of Staff at the VA Pacific Islands Health Care System (VAPIHCS) plays a crucial role in overseeing the delivery of comprehensive health care services to veterans across a vast area of the Pacific Ocean. This position supports the Associate Chief of Staff of Primary Care and supervises various directors within the Primary Care Service, ensuring compliance with health care policies and promoting optimal patient care. The role involves collaboration with other service lines and participation in high-level decision-making processes to enhance the health delivery system.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other service lines and periodically with other VA Medical Centers.
  • Support compliance with various oversight administrative and clinical entities.
  • Anticipate clinical, teaching, and administrative contributions based on service needs.
  • Assess the health delivery system and develop a plan for delivering health services to patients.
  • Establish a climate within the Primary Care Service that promotes optimum patient care.
  • Participate in top-level decisions and policy designs affecting Medical Service through collaboration with administration and other service chiefs.

Requirements

  • Must hold a full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory.
  • Board certification is required for reimbursement of CME expenses.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in managing health care services in a federal or VA setting.
  • Familiarity with the policies and guidelines of the Veterans' Health Administration.
