About the position

The Primary Care Deputy Associate Chief of Staff at the VA Pacific Islands Health Care System plays a crucial role in overseeing and enhancing the delivery of health services to veterans across a vast geographical area. This position involves collaboration with various service lines and VA Medical Centers, ensuring compliance with administrative and clinical standards, and fostering an environment that promotes optimal patient care. The role includes direct supervision of key health service directors and participation in high-level decision-making processes that impact the Medical Service and its goals.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other service lines and periodically with other VA Medical Centers.
  • Support compliance with various oversight administrative and clinical entities.
  • Anticipate clinical, teaching, and administrative contributions based on service needs.
  • Assess the health delivery system and develop a plan for health service delivery to patients.
  • Establish a climate within the Primary Care Service that promotes optimum patient care.
  • Participate in top-level decisions and policy designs affecting Medical Service through collaboration with administration and other service chiefs.

Requirements

  • Must hold a full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory.
  • Experience in a leadership role within a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of the Veterans' Health Administration policies and guidelines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Board certification in a relevant medical specialty.
  • Experience in mental health integration or pain management.
