About the position

The Physician Enterprise Development Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading initiatives that enhance relationships between physicians, administrative staff, and facilities within MercyOne Medical Group. The role focuses on developing strategies to maximize profits and market share while ensuring high-quality service and customer satisfaction. This position involves coordinating provider relations activities for both new and existing providers, fostering strong connections with healthcare partners, and driving revenue growth through effective communication and relationship management.

Responsibilities

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with referring physicians, medical groups, hospitals, and other healthcare providers to facilitate patient referrals.
  • Proactively identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and referral sources to expand our patient base and drive revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to develop targeted strategies and materials to effectively communicate our services' value proposition to referring physicians and healthcare partners.
  • Meet with referring physicians regarding new physician introductions, new services, referral methods, patient education materials, and other related collateral materials.
  • Analyze client demographics to identify new opportunities and enhance market share.
  • Maximize the profitable utilization of MercyOne Medical Group's services by increasing referrals and identifying non-physician referral sources.
  • Identify and maintain the required contact frequency with referral sources and their office staff to maintain referral loyalty.
  • Respond quickly to identify and resolve customer concerns.
  • Provide administration and key staff with relevant market and customer feedback to enhance marketing and business decisions.
  • Facilitate resolution of physician issues and concerns.
  • Conduct periodic surveys of referral professionals to assess effectiveness and satisfaction with practice services.
  • Organize and conduct educational events, seminars, and presentations for referring physicians and their staff to increase awareness of our medical practice's capabilities, specialties, and services.
  • Monitor and track referral volumes, conversion rates, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of business development initiatives and identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain open and positive communication with staff, physicians, and other hospital departments.
  • Call on customers to problem solve and address patient complaints.
  • Assist in developing new marketing programs and introducing these programs into the marketplace.
  • Prepare promotional materials in coordination with Marketing/Communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, nursing, healthcare administration, or a related field required.
  • Experience working with physicians required.
  • Business development, marketing, and/or provider relations experience required.
