About the position

The Physician - Family Medicine position involves providing comprehensive medical care to patients of all ages and genders. The role focuses on diagnosing, treating, and preventing various health conditions while ensuring a patient-centered approach to care. The physician will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and contribute to the overall health and well-being of the community.

Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat patients of all ages and genders.
  • Prescribe and administer medications, perform routine vaccinations, and minor procedures.
  • Request necessary tests and follow-up visits, referring patients to specialists as needed.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and progress, reevaluating treatments as necessary.
  • Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients.
  • Advise patients on diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
  • Deliver babies and coordinate care with other healthcare providers.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of medical staff, including nurses and assistants.
  • Plan and implement health programs or standards for injury or illness prevention.
  • Train residents, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Prepare reports including birth, death, and disease statistics.
  • Conduct research to develop or test medications and treatments.
  • Provide Telehealth services as needed.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy licensed in Oklahoma prior to start date.
  • Completion of a three-year family practice residency.
  • Board-eligible from the American Board of Family Medicine; board certification required within 2 years after residency completion.
  • Outstanding bedside manners with a patient-centric approach.
  • Excellent active listening and communication skills.
  • Strong clinical capabilities and judgment.
  • Experience in collaborative team-based care.
  • Proficient in EHR systems.
  • Ability to prioritize resources effectively.
  • Comfortable receiving and providing constructive feedback.
  • Engaged in continuous learning and quality improvement.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with diverse populations.
  • Passionate about providing high-quality primary healthcare to underserved residents.
