About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our talented OBGYN team in the Boston, MA area. This position involves providing comprehensive care to obstetrics patients and assisting in the delivery of babies under the direction of experienced Obstetricians. The Physician Assistant will perform various obstetrics-related procedures, including but not limited to episiotomies, and will maintain competency and proficiency in Clinical Practice Networks (CPN). In addition to obstetrics, the role includes providing perioperative care in surgical services, assisting surgeons, and performing surgical-related procedures such as drain removal while ensuring proficiency in Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE).

Responsibilities

• Assist Obstetricians in the care of obstetrics patients and the delivery of babies.
• Perform obstetrics-related procedures, including episiotomies.
• Maintain competency and proficiency in Clinical Practice Networks (CPN).
• Assist surgeons in providing perioperative care.
• Perform surgical-related procedures, including drain removal.
• Maintain competency and proficiency in Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE).

Requirements

• Clinical experience in Labor and Delivery.
• Life support requirements: BLS and NRP certification.
• Graduate of a Master's in Nursing program or a Physician Assistant program.
• Certification and current NP or PA license to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• DEA MCSR certification.

Nice-to-haves

• At least 6 months clinical experience in specialty Obstetrics.
• Experience with labor and vaginal delivery, post-partum care, and cervical ripening agents.
• Experience with fetal heart monitoring.
• Experience with central venous access and chest tube placement.
• Ability to first assist in the operating room.
• Ability to perform procedures at the bedside.
• Basic computer skills.
