About the position

The Physician Investigator position within the Genomic Medicine Initiative at Baylor College of Medicine focuses on translating genetic discoveries into clinical practice, enhancing precision medicine and population genomic research. This hybrid role combines research and clinical responsibilities, with significant support for research activities, including up to 50% protected research time. The successful candidate will play a key role in setting strategic priorities and overseeing clinical aspects related to phenotype harmonization and data infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the launch of the genomic medicine initiative.
  • Implement and study precision medicine and population genomic research.
  • Provide clinical oversight for phenotype harmonization and outcomes assessment.
  • Set and implement strategic priorities for the initiative.

Requirements

  • BC/BE physician investigator with training in Internal Medicine (preferably in cardiovascular or digestive diseases).
  • Trained in clinical informatics, population genetic research, or implementation science.
  • Experience in genomic research or close to having research funding.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in implementing genomic research initiatives.
