About the position

The Physician (MD/DO) position at Groups Recover Together involves providing Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for patients with opiate use disorder. This role is designed for physicians who are committed to helping individuals regain control of their lives through a combination of therapy and medication. The position is contract-based, offering flexible hours with a minimum commitment of 5 hours per week, and allows physicians to focus on medical management while adhering to strict clinical protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting intakes for patients after evaluation by counselors.
  • Monitor patients' clinical progress during regular group counseling sessions.
  • Authorize patients' prescriptions during monthly visits with patient panels.
  • Complete all notes and reporting in the Groups EMR system within required timelines.

Requirements

  • Active, unencumbered State License (MD/DO) in Tennessee.
  • Active, individual DEA with address listed in Tennessee.
  • DEAX designation or proof of 8 hours of qualified training as assigned by SAMHSA.
  • Experience prescribing in the MAT/SUD space preferred; indirect/relative experience considered.
  • Board Certification in Anesthesiology, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine with Addiction Certification, Preventative Medicine, or Psych/Neuro.
  • Hospital admitting privileges.
