About the position

The Physician Office LPN at King's Daughters Medical Center is responsible for providing nursing care under the supervision of Physicians and Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioners (APRNs). This role focuses on managing patient flow within the medical practice, ensuring timely rooming and turnover, and supporting the efficiency of healthcare providers. The LPN will perform essential nursing duties, including patient assessments, documentation, medication administration, and patient education.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for physician and/or APRN visits by obtaining vital signs, chief complaints, and medical histories.
  • Collect specimens for laboratory analysis and perform basic patient care as ordered.
  • Document assessments and the effectiveness of care/interventions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses, adhering to safe medication practices.
  • Manage nursing in-basket responsibilities and perform registration duties as needed.
  • Provide educational materials to patients and document their understanding of care and treatment.
  • Lead the day-to-day work of the team as a Lead LPN.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Practical Nursing.
  • Active LPN license in Kentucky or other eNLC state with multistate privileges.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • One year of LPN experience.
