About the position

The Otolaryngologist position at the Veterans Health Administration involves providing comprehensive medical services in the field of Otolaryngology. The role includes diagnosing and treating conditions related to the ear, nose, and throat, performing surgical procedures, and maintaining accurate medical documentation. Responsibilities

  • Review medical history and conduct detailed physical exams.
  • Interpret laboratory and diagnostic results.
  • Diagnose Otolaryngology conditions and assist or perform procedures in the operating room and clinical areas.
  • Assess and treat diseases of the Ear, Nose, and Throat and surgical conditions.
  • Perform screening examinations and complete H&P's and progress notes.
  • Perform basic diagnostic procedures.
  • Prescribe both inpatient and outpatient medications.
  • Write appropriate orders on inpatient and/or outpatient assigned to the facility.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens.
  • Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree from an approved institution.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. State, Territory, or Commonwealth.
  • Completion of residency training in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.

  • Board Certification / Eligible in the specialty/sub-specialty indicated in the announcement.
