About the position

This part-time physician position focuses on providing comprehensive care in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PMR) within the VA Boston facilities. The role involves diagnosing and treating a wide range of acute and chronic rehabilitation conditions, including musculoskeletal injuries, chronic pain, and neurological conditions. The physician will also engage in scholarly activities and teaching, contributing to the education of residents and students in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee continuity of care in outpatient clinics.
  • Utilize skills in diagnosing and treating acute and chronic rehabilitation conditions.
  • Provide cross-coverage clinical work throughout VA Boston facilities.
  • Perform specialized procedural skills in collaboration with Orthopedic, Rheumatology, Medical, and PCP services.
  • Conduct diagnostic and interventional MSK ultrasound procedures.
  • Engage in evidence-based orthobiologics practices, including joint injections and PRP.
  • Demonstrate interest in scholarly activities and teaching PMR residents, PA students, and nursing staff.

Requirements

  • United States Citizenship.
  • Degree of doctor of medicine or equivalent from an approved school.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S.
  • Completion of residency training in an accredited core specialty program.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Board Certification or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in teaching and mentoring medical students and residents.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based practices in rehabilitation medicine.
