About the position
Matrix Providers is seeking a Traumatic Brain Injury Provider (Psychiatrist, Neurologist, or Physiatrist PM&R) to conduct one-time, non-treatment Veteran Disability Exams in Fort Wayne, IN. Responsibilities
- Conduct one-time, non-treatment compensation and pension exams for veterans.
- Review pertinent medical history documentation related to Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
- Capture responses during the exam using web-based examination forms.
- Complete all documentation electronically and submit to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for disability award determinations.
- Order ancillary tests such as X-rays, labs, EKGs, and PFTs as clinically indicated.
Requirements
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) or Neurology.
- Experience in evaluating for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
- Primary care experience is required.
- Hold and maintain an active and unrestricted license in the specialty field of M.D. or D.O.
- Have an active and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good interpersonal skills and flexibility to adapt to changing situations.
- Basic computer skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Prior VA or compensation exam experience is a plus.
