About the position
Matrix Providers is seeking a Traumatic Brain Injury Provider to conduct one-time, non-treatment Veteran Disability Exams at the Medical Disability Examinations facility in Redding, CA. This role is designed for medical professionals who are committed to providing excellent service and care to Veterans, focusing on assessments rather than treatment or medication prescription. The position offers flexible scheduling options and requires a strong proficiency in medical documentation and communication.
Responsibilities
- Read order requests and review medical history including service records and previous exams.
- Complete appropriate Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQ) and Medical Opinions (MO) through the Electronic Medical Records System (EMR).
- Explain the exam process to the veteran and confirm the claimed conditions.
- Complete the chart and submit the exam within 24-48 hours after the exam is completed.
- Administer and interpret the MOCA test as needed.
- Troubleshoot IT issues with veterans for telehealth exams if requested.
- Maintain a professional background for virtual appointments.
Requirements
- Must hold an MD/DO license in at least one state in the United States.
- Must be board-certified in Neurological Surgery, Neurology, or Physiatry (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation) or have completed a 2-year residency in one of these specialties.
- Demonstrates compassion and professionalism with a commitment to providing excellent service and care.
- Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office Suite and EMR platforms.
- Skilled in professional communication, critical thinking, and informed-care decision-making.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Nice-to-haves
- Prior experience in clinical settings.
- Prior VA or C&P experience.
