About the position

The Urologist position at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center involves providing comprehensive clinical and surgical care for diseases affecting the urinary tract and male reproductive organs. The role includes performing surgeries, managing outpatient and inpatient care, and participating in administrative duties. The Urologist will also mentor medical students and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform surgical procedures related to urology, including preoperative and postoperative evaluations.
• Provide comprehensive care for ambulatory patients in the outpatient Urology Clinic.
• Manage new patient consultations, diagnosis, and treatment in the clinic and emergency department.
• Document patient assessments and care plans in a timely manner.
• Participate in committees and meetings as required.
• Mentor and supervise medical school students.

Requirements

• United States Citizenship.
• Doctor of Medicine degree or equivalent from an approved medical school.
• Current, full, and unrestricted medical license in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States.
• Completion of an accredited Urologic residency training program.
• Board Certified or board eligible by the American Board of Urology.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a VA medical center or similar healthcare environment.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
