About the position

The Interventional Pain Medicine Physician will be responsible for diagnosing and treating complex pain conditions using advanced interventional techniques. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop comprehensive pain management strategies and providing high-quality patient care. The physician will also supervise midlevel providers and nurses, ensuring the quality of care and documentation is maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients with complex pain conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Perform interventional procedures to provide pain relief.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and imaging-guided techniques for accurate diagnosis and treatment.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop comprehensive pain management strategies.
  • Prescribe medications and monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Educate patients on pain management techniques and lifestyle modifications.
  • Stay current on advancements in interventional pain medicine.
  • Complete all documentation and paperwork in a timely manner within the electronic medical record.
  • Supervise assigned midlevel providers and nurses, reviewing quality of care and signing off on their patient charts.
  • Provide excellent patient care and customer service.

Requirements

  • Active Medical License
  • Active DEA Certification
  • Board certification in Pain Medicine, Anesthesiology, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, or Neurology
  • Completion of a fellowship in Interventional Pain Medicine or equivalent experience
  • Experience in fluoroscopy-guided and ultrasound-guided procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to perform interventional pain procedures such as epidural injections, nerve blocks, spinal cord stimulation, and radiofrequency ablation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Empathy, compassion, and a strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English; additional languages preferred
  • Demonstrated communication skills for counseling, teaching, marketing, and public relations
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals and financial reports
  • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from patients and regulatory agencies
  • Ability to effectively present information to management and public groups
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply scientific thinking to problems.
