About the position
The Medical Physicist position at IU Health Arnett Physicians is a PRN role within the Radiation Oncology clinic in Lafayette, Indiana. The role involves providing a full range of physics services to support radiation therapy, ensuring high standards of care and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. The position requires occasional weekend work for quality assurance tasks and emphasizes a strong team culture in an ACR accredited practice.
Responsibilities
- Provide a full range of physics services to Radiation Therapy, including calibration, dosimetry, treatment planning, and Quality Assurance.
- Engage in research and development activities related to radiation therapy.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, Advanced Practice Providers, and clinical staff to ensure excellent patient care.
Requirements
- Board certification by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Radiological Physics.
- Indiana State Licensure as Physicist in Radiation Oncology.
- MS or PhD in medical physics, physics, radiation biology, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience in radiation therapy.
- Good organizational skills and previous experience with computer systems and software packages.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to relate well to patients and staff.
- Knowledge of standard precautions and environmental protection standards.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with advanced radiation therapy equipment and software.
- Familiarity with ACR accreditation processes.
