About the position

The Physics/Engineering Tutor position at Collin County Community College involves providing academic tutoring and assistance to individual students and small groups in the subject of physics. Responsibilities

• Tutor and assist students in academic achievement by meeting with them individually or in small groups.
• Help clarify course material and provide suggestions to improve study skills.
• Assist students with course-related equipment and supplies.
• Maintain records of students tutored as required under department guidelines.
• Ensure confidentiality of student records in compliance with FERPA.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Master's degree including 18 graduate hours in discipline.
• One (1) year of related experience required.
• Knowledge of college-level courses.
• Knowledge of the English language.
• Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Publisher.
• Knowledge of academic software and related instructional equipment.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Effective presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create a positive tutoring environment and communicate effectively.
