The PI Financial Operations Director at HCA Healthcare is a pivotal role responsible for leading hospital-based multi-disciplinary teams to achieve specific business and financial objectives. The Director will utilize a defined performance improvement methodology to direct teams, ensuring that they are equipped with relevant data and resources throughout the project lifecycle. Regular updates will be provided to the Site Lead Director and AVP of Performance Improvement regarding team progress and any challenges encountered. In this role, the Director will facilitate multiple teams, managing the collection, dissemination, and organization of meeting tools, data, and assignments. Analyzing comparator and benchmark data will be essential to making informed recommendations for cost and process efficiency that align with the financial objectives of the facility. Collaboration with other HCA facilities and corporate departments will be necessary to share best practices and achieve team goals. The Director will also participate in updating the Performance Improvement toolkit and methodologies, focusing on various departments such as Radiology, Laboratory, and specialized nursing units. The Director will be responsible for developing strategic documents, including communication plans and project updates, while managing project work plans to ensure the smooth execution of newly implemented processes. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record of delivering results. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree and have extensive experience in performance improvement within healthcare operations, demonstrating the ability to lead teams effectively and drive meaningful change.

Responsibilities

  • Lead hospital-based multi-disciplinary teams to achieve specific business and financial objectives.
  • Recommend process and cost efficiency solutions in collaboration with Subject Matter Specialists.
  • Direct multi-disciplinary teams using a defined performance improvement methodology.
  • Manage the setup of hospital-based team meetings and supply teams with relevant data.
  • Engage team members throughout the project lifecycle and update Site Lead Director and AVP of PI on progress and roadblocks.
  • Facilitate multiple teams, including the collection and organization of meeting tools, data, and assignments.
  • Analyze comparator and benchmark data to make cost and process efficiency recommendations.
  • Collaborate with other HCA facilities and corporate departments to disseminate process improvement best practices.
  • Participate in updating the Performance Improvement toolkit and methodologies for various departments.
  • Direct and maintain project work plans and serve as a liaison between Site Lead and hospital team members.
  • Develop strategic documents such as communication plans and project updates.
  • Manage projects to ensure smooth execution of newly implemented processes.
  • Design meaningful action plans for the implementation of process improvement ideas.
  • Facilitate 'Rapid Design' sessions to brainstorm new cost savings and process improvement ideas.
  • Escalate issues to Site Leader as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree - Required
  • Master's Degree - Preferred
  • 7 years of professional work experience - Required
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience - Required
  • Experience in performance/process improvement including proven success in implementation - Preferred
  • Experience within healthcare operations - Required
  • Strong analytical, written, verbal, and presentation skills - Required
