About the position

The Underwriter/Account Executive for the PI Marine team at Travelers Companies, Inc. is responsible for managing the profitability, growth, and retention of a designated book of business focused on Boat & Yacht insurance. This role involves underwriting risks, developing relationships with agents and brokers, and executing marketing strategies to meet customer needs and achieve financial objectives.

Responsibilities

• Manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business for a state and/or region.
• Underwrite risks for new and renewal business to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Foster and maintain relationships with assigned agents and brokers by regularly meeting in person to market and sell Travelers products.
• Assess agent/broker results against financial and business objectives.
• Collaborate closely with Claim partners to understand claim trends.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with Personal Insurance and Enterprise partners to develop new business and sales plans.
• Identify new business and retention opportunities by promoting Travelers products and services.
• Prepare marketing and sales approaches and recommendations for leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work experience.
• 2 years of underwriting experience required.
