About the position

Adams & Martin Group is collaborating with a well-reputed, medium-sized litigation firm located in Costa Mesa, which is seeking to hire an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to join their dedicated team. This firm is known for representing and advocating for plaintiffs in numerous high-profile cases, particularly those involving sensitive matters such as sex abuse. The ideal candidate will be required to work in-office in Costa Mesa on a full-time basis, contributing to the firm's mission of providing exceptional legal support to clients in need. The Personal Injury Paralegal will play a crucial role in assisting attorneys with complex litigation tasks. This includes managing all phases of discovery, which encompasses drafting legal documents, conducting thorough document analysis, and overseeing the production of evidence. The paralegal will also be responsible for preparing for depositions and ensuring that all electronic case files are organized and maintained for easy access. Additionally, the role involves handling electronic discovery tasks such as document review, coding, bates numbering, and conducting searches to locate pertinent information. In preparation for trials, the paralegal will support attorneys by creating trial notebooks, organizing exhibits, coordinating with witnesses, and managing trial calendars. Tracking project status and deliverables is also a key responsibility, along with conducting factual research and document analysis to support case strategies. The paralegal will be expected to cite-check legal documents to ensure accuracy and communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and external parties as directed. Accurate recording of daily work hours and performing additional duties as assigned will also be part of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with complex litigation tasks.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a personal injury litigation paralegal.
  • Skilled in legal research, document management, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Adobe PDF manipulation.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, handling sensitive information with discretion.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and travel if needed.
  • ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate or equivalent qualifications per California Business and Professions Code Section 6450(c).
