About the position
The Piano Instructor position at Melody Makers Music Academy involves teaching piano to students of all levels, from beginners to advanced. The role focuses on building strong relationships with students and their families while providing tailored instruction that fosters a love for music. Instructors will mentor students through their musical journey, ensuring they develop proper techniques, music reading skills, and confidence in their abilities. This is a contract position that offers flexibility in scheduling and the opportunity to work in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide tailored instruction for all skill levels, focusing on proper techniques and effective music reading strategies.
- Select and utilize teaching materials appropriate for each student's level.
- Collaborate with families to communicate student progress and provide practice strategies.
- Support performance opportunities by preparing students for recitals and competitions.
- Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality for lessons.
- Uphold studio standards for communication and organization.
Requirements
- Holds a BA in music, BM, or Bachelor of Music Education (Highly preferred).
- At least one year of teaching experience (Preferred).
- Available for in-person lessons at least one full day (two or more days preferred).
