About the position

DHE Transportation is seeking dedicated CDL Class A Local Truck drivers to join our expanding team. This role is crucial for maintaining customer relations by ensuring timely and damage-free delivery of freight. The position involves multiple stops per day, requiring strong customer service skills and familiarity with local traffic routes.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight in a safe and prompt manner
• Interact with clients and customers professionally and courteously with limited supervision
• Comply with Department of Transportation regulations and laws
• Maintain responsibility for the safety and security of company equipment and customer goods
• Load and unload trailers and move freight across the terminal dock, either individually or with assistance
• Record quantity and type of shipments using bills of lading, delivery receipts, and tally sheets
• Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations
• Hook and unhook trailers from tractors, including cranking levers to raise and lower landing gear
• Fuel trucks and tractors
• Perform all other work-related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Valid CDL Class A license
• Experience in local delivery driving
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to operate pallet jacks and lift gates
• Knowledge of local traffic routes
• Ability to comply with DOT regulations

Nice-to-haves

• Bobtail driving experience
• Familiarity with freight handling equipment
