About the position

Responsibilities

  • Perform pile driving for roadway construction.
  • Conduct regular inspections of bridge structures and pile driving operations.
  • Inspect piles, pilings, and other bridge foundation elements during and after construction.
  • Document and report inspection findings, identifying signs of wear, damage, or structural deficiencies.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to resolve issues related to foundation integrity.
  • Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) to evaluate material integrity.
  • Review and maintain accurate inspection reports and records for each project.
  • Monitor environmental conditions and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Provide recommendations for repairs or improvements based on inspection results.
  • Assist with quality control and safety inspections related to pile driving activities.
  • Ensure inspections are completed within project timelines and meet regulations.
  • Attend training to maintain knowledge of industry practices and safety standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in pile driving, bridge inspection, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of bridge construction methods and structural analysis.
  • Strong understanding of structural integrity, safety codes, and inspection protocols.
  • Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local construction regulations, including DOT standards.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and access hard-to-reach areas.
