About the position

Genesis10 is seeking a Big Data Engineer for a 9+ month contract position in the financial industry. The role involves consulting on complex initiatives within Software Engineering, analyzing challenges, and collaborating with client personnel to meet deliverables while ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Software Engineering.
  • Review and analyze moderately complex Software Engineering challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Contribute to the resolution of moderately complex issues and consult with others to meet Software Engineering deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with client personnel in Software Engineering.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of application development and implementation experience using Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Python/Scala.
  • Strong Experience in T-SQL Development such as complex stored procedures, data load, views.
  • Design and develop ETL to move data from various sources preferably from Flat files, JSON, Oracle and experience with FTP, NDM.
  • Experience in writing AUTOSYS JIL (Job Information Language) Commands.
  • Deployment of Database components from lower environment to UAT/Production environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • 3+ years of experience with Agile tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years of experience designing and implementing process solutions for automation.
  • 3+ years of build-deploy automation and configuration experience.
  • 3+ years of Advanced SQL & Data Development experience.
  • 1+ year of experience with DevOps environments.
  • An industry-standard technology certification.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in Information technology/Computer Science/ Mathematics.
