Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the policies, procedures, contractual rules and systems of Flight Operations, in coordination with ALPA and other Company departments.
  • Set and implement policy, procedures and technical requirements of systems and processes for various areas related to pilot employment.
  • Modify or create new policies, practices and systems to address the needs of the operation.
  • Collaborate with various departments to develop changes ensuring they meet all contractual, labor and philosophical goals.
  • Answer questions, provide input, review policy and direct numerous projects and topics touching pilot employment.
  • Ensure proper application of the contract consistently across the organization, maintaining the credibility of Flight Operations and a sense of fairness.
  • Provide daily advice and direction to the Chief Pilot Offices on matters of contract application and Flight Operations policy.
  • Coordinate and serve as the point of contact across the entire system for all issues related to pilot policies and implement a consistent application of those policies.
  • Develop and implement communications systems, strategies, methods and messages for broad distribution as well as individual correspondence with pilots.
  • Work directly with multiple committees within ALPA to resolve pilot work rule issues and process grievances.
  • Assist in research and drafting proposals during pilot contract negotiations, ensuring understanding of policies, procedures, technological limitations/capabilities and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • 7+ years of experience working in areas that require strict compliance with the UPA with a primary focus on combined experiences with pilot scheduling and pay.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification.
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position.
