About the position

ALASKA AIR TRANSIT (AAT) is a community-oriented small business that focuses on safety and customer service. Based in Anchorage, on Merrill Field, AAT operates a fleet of four Pilatus PC-12s and two Grand CaravanEXs. By offering charter service and scheduled seat-fare service throughout Alaska, we enjoy servicing both familiar and new destinations every year for a diverse customer base. We are pursuing an experienced captain with prior leadership experience who is interested in growing toward flight operations management, in addition to regular flying. This full-time position involves piloting either a Pilatus PC-12 or Grand CaravanEX for single-pilot IFR operations, with a management growth path available for the right candidate. The role includes a monthly set schedule with a regular fixed duty day, competitive pay with a fixed guarantee each month, and various employer-sponsored benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and operate aircraft according to AAT written standards and abide by all AAT ground and flight safety procedures.
  • Gather and effectively communicate weather conditions/forecasts with team members and customers.
  • Be flexible to changing priorities and flights due to weather or other operational considerations.
  • Plan, prepare, and complete Part 135 flights that carry mixed loads of passengers and freight for a diverse customer base.
  • Participate in dispatch and flight risk assessment procedures for each flight, with our Flight Coordinators, who possess shared dispatch responsibilities and provide in-flight support.
  • Load and service aircraft outstation, and oversee the loading and servicing completed at our home base by AAT Ramp Agents.

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a pilot in command with leadership experience.
  • Experience with single-pilot IFR operations.
  • Strong communication skills for effective weather reporting and team collaboration.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing flight schedules and operational needs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Pilatus PC-12 or Grand CaravanEX aircraft.
  • Knowledge of Part 135 operations.
