Responsibilities
- Assemble, connect, and construct pipe systems for stormwater and sanitation.
- Prepare ground and dig trenches for pipes.
- Align pipes and seal joints using cement or glue.
- Work with the pipe crew to set RCP and RCB pipes for extensions and crossings.
- Operate hand and power tools as needed.
- Follow safety rules, policies, and guidelines.
- Set up lasers with grades and verify slopes according to drawings.
- Configure pipe routes and align pipes in sections.
- Inspect fittings to ensure proper spacing and alignment of pipes.
- Lay pipes for sewers, drains, and water mains.
- Grade trenches or culverts and cover pipes with dirt or other materials.
- Drill holes into pipes for auxiliary lines and assist with concrete pipes.
Requirements
- At least 3-5 years of experience in utility roadway construction.
- Physical ability to perform assigned tasks.
- Basic knowledge of operating various hand and power tools.
- Experience working with concrete pipes.
- Previous experience setting up to 48" RCP.
- Familiarity with safety end treatments.
- Flexibility to work days and nights as needed.
