About the position

The Pipefitter position at Austin Industrial involves laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. This role is crucial for ensuring the functionality of various industrial production and processing systems, including steam, hot water, heating, cooling, and lubricating systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pipefitting and be able to work in various weather conditions while adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related equipment.
• Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications using appropriate tools.
• Attach pipes to walls, structures, and fixtures using brackets, clamps, and welding equipment.
• Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.
• Select pipe sizes and types and related materials according to specifications.
• Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems and related machines and equipment.
• Turn valves to shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids from pipe sections.
• Remove and replace worn components.
• Inspect work sites for obstructions and structural integrity.
• Operate motorized pumps to remove water from flooded areas.
• Work at heights and lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Requirements

• Journeyman Industrial Pipefitter certification required.
• 3-5 years of pipefitting experience required.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
