About the position
The Pipefitter at Methuen Construction Company, Inc. is responsible for the installation and maintenance of various piping systems. This full-time position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 1-3 years of relevant experience in the construction industry. The role involves working closely with flanged piping systems, welding, and the installation of various types of piping, while ensuring safety and efficiency on active construction sites.
Responsibilities
- Bolt up and align flanged piping systems
- Install gaskets
- Layout various piping systems
- Bevel and groove ductile iron and steel pipe
- Weld process piping systems
- Cut and fabricate spool pieces
- Sweat/solder piping (non-potable water)
- Thread and cut pipe
- Glue and assemble plastic piping
- Cut, fuse, and assemble PVDF piping
- Bevel, cut, and fit associated piping prior to welding
- Install small diameter tubing for instrumentation and controls
- Install prefabricated or pre-manufactured pipe supports including anchors.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in the construction industry
- Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
- Strong team player with a positive attitude
