The Pipefitter position at the Veterans Health Administration involves installation, maintenance, and repair of various plumbing and steam systems. Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair steam and plumbing systems and equipment.
• Plan and lay out work, ensuring proper selection of piping, valves, and fittings.
• Test systems and equipment for proper circulation, flow, pressure, and leak-free joints.
• Respond to emergency calls for repairs as required.
• Familiarize with job activities that impact environmental stewardship and compliance with regulations.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen to apply.
• Evidence of training or experience in pipefitting or related work.
• Ability to work without more than normal supervision.
• Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, and repair.
• Ability to interpret instructions and specifications, including blueprint reading.
• Experience in measurement and layout, technical practices, troubleshooting, and tool maintenance.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with high, medium, and low pressure steam systems.
• Familiarity with environmental public health and resource protection laws.
