About the position

The Marine Pipefitter position involves the construction and repair of piping systems on Navy boats, requiring expertise in various marine piping systems and fabrication techniques. This long-term contract role is based in Marinette, WI, and is essential for ensuring the functionality and safety of ships during repair and modernization processes.

Responsibilities

• Rip out, repair, target, layout, fabricate, install and test marine piping systems onboard ships.
• Repair and replace ships' piping systems including Auxiliary Salt Water, Fire Main, Potable Water, Hydraulic, Compressed Air, Fuel Oil, Lube Oil, and Engine Exhaust.
• Utilize work item specifications, NAVSEA/Military standards, and marine blueprints for repairs.
• Operate various shop equipment such as table saws, pipe threading machines, bending machines, drill presses, and brazing equipment.
• Perform strain free of pumps and miscellaneous ship equipment, blanking, and pressure testing of tanks.

Requirements

• Journeyman Pipefitter certification or equivalent experience.
• Experience in marine piping systems and fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret marine blueprints and specifications.
• Familiarity with NAVSEA/Military standards.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Silver Braze testing and various pipe materials.
• Knowledge of safety standards in a marine environment.
