About the position

The Pipeline-Pumping Engineer, PE position at Tetra Tech in Denver, CO, focuses on providing resilient engineering designs for water and wastewater projects. The role involves collaboration with a dedicated team to develop strategies that meet client needs while fostering professional growth. The successful candidate will engage in the design and coordination of various municipal projects, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and providing mentorship to junior staff.

Responsibilities

  • Perform conceptual and detailed design calculations and analyses.
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports, construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and supporting documents.
  • Ensure standard engineering practices and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various reports and design projects.
  • Perform engineering interpretation of specifications and drawings, recommend and document design modifications.
  • Resolve questions, plan, coordinate, and execute work in a safe, timely, cost-effective, and compliant manner.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to staff engineers, as well as construction support services (field meetings, submittal review, shop drawing reviews, RFIs, etc).
  • Assist with business development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline (focus on water/wastewater preferred).
  • 4+ years of experience with water and wastewater system design; including the design of pipelines, pumping systems, and/or collection systems.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Colorado is required.
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Design experience with alternatives analyses for alignments, pipe materials, valves.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, as well as Microsoft Office software, to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project.

Nice-to-haves

  • Active membership and participation in water and wastewater professional associations such as RMWEA or RMSAWWA; a plus.
  • NASSCO PACP Certification preferred.
