About the position
The Pipeline Technician (Pigger) at Targa is responsible for executing pigging operations and maintaining pipeline integrity through various tasks including valve inspections, pipe maintenance, and compliance with safety protocols. This role requires effective communication and teamwork, as well as the ability to work in diverse environmental conditions and respond to emergency situations.
Responsibilities
- Perform pigging operations and maintain proper documentation.
- Operate and maintain pickup and equipment for pigging.
- Conduct site cleanup and maintenance activities.
- Assist other field operators as needed.
- Facilitate Management of Change (MOC) processes and recognize the need for protocol adherence.
- Conduct pipe maintenance and ensure compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM).
- Perform valve inspections and maintenance at specified intervals with appropriate documentation.
- Work weekends and participate in a rotation for call-out status and emergency response.
- Complete other job duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of related work experience.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills to interface with teams and vendors.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in changing climate conditions and close quarters.
Nice-to-haves
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Previous field technician experience.
