About The Position

Turner Industries is seeking a Pipeline-Style Combo Welder (1104 quals, test on branch and butt) for nested maintenance in Mont Belvieu, TX. This position is ideal for local candidates as there is no per diem. A valid driver's license is required. This is not a Rig Welder position, meaning you do not need your own truck and rig. It is perfect for a Rig Welder wanting to be home and stay in one place for a long time, allowing you to attend your kids' games and be home every night. Candidates must pass a weld test, drug screen, and criminal background check.

Requirements

• Minimum four (4) years of experience in specified skill.
• Written pre-employment qualification test.
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
• OSHA approved corrective eye wear (Z87).
• Job site orientation.
• Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.).
• Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.).
• Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fit, and weld fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms such as tanks, pressure vessels, furnace shells, pipe, and building and bridge parts.
• Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding.
• Lay out, position, align, and fit components together.
• Bolt, clamp, and tack weld parts to secure in position for welding.
• Set up equipment and weld parts.
• Assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
• Weld pipe such as carbon steel, stainless steel, chrome, etc. using various processes including arc, heliarc, gas, mig, tig.
• Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
• Use cutting torch to cut materials and demo existing assemblies.
