About the position
The Piping Manager is responsible for overseeing all piping-related activities within construction projects, ensuring that they are planned, directed, and coordinated effectively. This role involves field supervision, project execution, and maintaining safety standards while managing relationships with various stakeholders. The Piping Manager will also handle budgeting, scheduling, and compliance with safety regulations, making it a critical position in the construction management process.
Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and coordinate all piping related activities.
- Supervise field construction activities.
- Assume overall responsibilities for project execution of assigned projects.
- Promote and enforce safety as a priority.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or design professionals.
- Plan, schedule, or coordinate piping activities to meet deadlines.
- Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports.
- Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes.
- Review change order requests for validity and assist in review for presentation to owner.
- Prepare detailed job bids for new work.
- Report productivity and activities to the project management team.
- Review and approve subcontractor billings to the client.
- Manage client interaction and communication.
- Oversee the project closeout process.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years experience as a manager of piping related projects.
- Good oral communication skills.
- Knowledgeable of the company safety policy and Quality Control program.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience with Primavera Scheduling software is a plus.
