About the position

As the Chief Financial Officer at Pitney Bowes Bank, you will be part of a Senior Leadership Team with a unique opportunity to lead and direct a highly successful and profitable institution. Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, you will be responsible for driving the successful implementation of the Bank's strategy while maintaining its position as one of the premier Industrial Loan Companies in the United States. With approximately $850MM in assets and growing, the bank is an essential part of Pitney Bowes Corporation. This leadership role is responsible for one of the most profitable segments of the institution and is highly relevant to the Corporation's strategy to compete and win in long-term / sustainable markets. Successful performance in the role will lead to succession opportunities including Bank CEO leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Actively lead the Bank's Finance team, building and developing a strong Finance organization.
  • Design and implement a talent management strategy to deepen the Bank's organizational capacity, operational skill set, and succession capability.
  • Partner with the Bank President to establish, build, implement, and drive strategies to enhance financial outcomes, drive growth / expansion of the bank, and deliver shareholder value creation.
  • Chair / participate on management committees including Pricing, ALCO, Bank Loan Committee, etc.
  • Actively engage stakeholders including regular interaction with Bank Board of Directors, PBI executive management, internal / external auditors, and regulatory supervisors.
  • Accountably deliver against financial objectives including partnering closely with PBI, affiliate businesses, and leadership teams to plan, forecast, and manage financial performance.
  • Meet and exceed financial KPI's including revenue, profitability, assets, key ratios, and net income.
  • Accountable for the production and accuracy of bank financial reporting including financial statements, regulatory reporting, and other management information reports.
  • Lead financial statement preparation and external audit engagements, ensuring Bank financials comply with required GAAP standards.
  • Lead Bank controllership function including SOX compliance.
  • Oversee Bank preparation for future transition & implementation of FIDICIA.
  • Own Financial Planning & Analysis for the Pitney Bowes Bank.
  • Support transactional structuring and review in line with Bank profitability and financial risk management.
  • Own Bank Treasury operations including development of treasury policies, procedures and governance.
  • Enhance and manage the bank's ALM (Asset Liability Management) process taking end-to-end leadership ensuring Bank Capital and Liquidity adequacy.
  • Develop daily liquidity operating procedures including but not limited to overseeing deposit operations and investment portfolio management decisions and activities.
  • Implement and drive strategies to optimize bank Cost of Funds and Portfolio mix to achieve desired short term and long-term financial outcomes while controlling risk.
  • Lead and drive Bank Capital Allocation including overseeing investment in bank infrastructure, systems, and capabilities.

Requirements

  • Proven success in building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills that translate to effective recommendations aligned to the broader business growth strategy and continued profitability.
  • In depth knowledge of financial services, the industrial bank landscape, regulatory requirements and operations.
  • Significant experience as a finance leader with deep expertise in accounting, financial reporting, tax planning, budgeting, forecasting and Capital Management.
  • Highly articulate with ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Operates with highest level of personal and professional integrity.

Nice-to-haves

  • Controller, VP Operations, Treasurer, Chief Investment Officer.
  • Industrial bank experience with ALCO membership/leadership and balance sheet management experience and regulatory capital compliance.
  • CPA, CFA or other “masters” level business degree preferred.
