About the position

The Academy Director at Brightside Academy is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the learning center, ensuring compliance with licensing and accreditation standards, and maintaining a high-quality educational environment for children. This role requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage staff and resources efficiently. The director will also focus on maximizing enrollment, ensuring customer satisfaction, and fostering a positive learning atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Assumes responsibility for every daily operations aspect of the learning center.
  • Ensures compliance with licensing/accrediting agencies and company policies.
  • Communicates effectively in verbal and written formats.
  • Adheres to budgetary requirements and manages expenses to achieve profitability.
  • Maximizes enrollment potential and minimizes student withdrawals.
  • On-boards new staff and conducts parent/child interviews prior to enrollment.
  • Acts as a liaison between teachers and parents to address issues and questions.
  • Maintains a clean, healthy, and active learning environment.
  • Ensures efficient staff/child ratios and manages staff schedules.
  • Escalates safety violations and facility issues as necessary.
  • Manages resources to ensure adequate supplies for children and staff.
  • Utilizes scorecard reporting to adjust operations as needed.
  • Encourages effective teaching by ensuring curriculum adherence and lesson plan usage.
  • Leads and inspires the team, holding them accountable for tasks.
  • Communicates frequently and concisely with academy staff about company matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education with ECE credits, or a related field with ECE credits and a Director's credential.
  • 2 years of experience overseeing children in an educational setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Leadership experience and basic understanding of Microsoft Office.

  • Experience in early childhood education leadership roles.
  • Advanced reading, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment.
